The music of Amelia Brey has been described as “haunting,” “disquieting” (National Sawdust Log), “striking,” and “acidic” (Blogcritics Magazine). Her works have received premieres by Ensemble Dal Niente, National Sawdust Ensemble, Carnegie Hall’s Ensemble Connect, and members of Ensemble Intercontemporain and the New York Philharmonic, have been featured at festivals and conferences including the New York Festival of Song, London New Wind Festival, and Chicago Flute Festival, and have been recognized with honors from Broadcast Music, Inc. (BMI) and the Nashville Symphony Composer Lab. She is a graduate of Vanderbilt University and The Juilliard School.
